Framed Pressed Flowers for Lasting Memorials

In times of loss, finding a way to preserve the memory of a loved one can provide comfort and solace. I create framed pressed flowers that are made with the flowers displayed and gifted at your memorial service. These flowers are pressed for a couple of months in my custom flower presses then framed into a piece of art.

The process:
I will come to your memorial service either at a funeral home, place of worship or at your private residence and choose an array of flowers from the arrangements. This is an important step in the art process and will be done with complete respect, quiet and compassion. Choosing the flowers myself will ensure that I get the right story of the flowers from the memorial. I will also choose more pressable type flowers so that the final art piece is successful. These flowers are then pressed between 1-3 months depending on the variety. When they are completely pressed they will be made into art on a background colour of your choice and a frame colour of your choice.
Frame colour choices: black, white, light pine
Background colour choices: white, cream, pink, blue, black
Pricing
My standard framed costs with matte backgrounds are:
11 x 14” frame with 8 x 10” matte - $300
11 x 14” frame with 10 x 12” matte - $340
16 x 20” frame with 11 x 14” matte - $375
16 x 20” frame with 14 x 18” matte - $450
The various sized mattes will leave a different viewing impression on the art piece. Often matte sizes are chosen based on the flower sizes. This can be discuss upon order.
All prices include a visit to the memorial to gather flowers, pressing flowers and your finished art piece in a standard frame in either white, black or bamboo. Delivery of the finished piece is extra. Free pick-up from my West-end Ottawa studio is available.
